Meeting Schedule

University Senate Benefits Advisory Committee Meeting Schedule

Benefits Subcommittee Charge

The duties for the Benefits subcommittee are:
1. The Benefits and Compensation subcommittees hold combined meetings and work together as appropriate. The benefits coordinator will develop the annual meeting schedule together with the compensation coordinator.
2. The benefits coordinator will attend the meetings of the University Senate Benefits Advisory Committee (BAC). There are four Civil Service (CS) representatives on the BAC. If one of the CS representatives is a CSC member it provides the committee a voice as well as a vote on BAC business. It is best if one of the CS representatives is from a co-ordinate campus.
3. The benefits coordinator, along with the other CS representatives, will monitor the health care and dental benefits and the life and disability insurance of Civil Service. The coordinator, in conjunction with CS representatives, will report on coverage plan details including any changes to cost or coverage. The coordinator will report any CS UPlan member feedback that is received regarding health benefits to the BAC.
4. The coordinator will also monitor state level issues that impact Minnesota State Retirement System.
5. The coordinator will submit a monthly report to the chair, the CSC membership listserv, the In-Touch coordinator, and the committee support staff. The report is to be submitted prior to the CSC meeting and the In-Touch deadline, each month. The coordinator will provide an oral report at the monthly CSC meeting.
6. The coordinator responds to benefits related questions from the committeeÕs constituency, at the request of the chair.
