Conducting Research at the Center

Principal Investigators who are Center members, or their staff, may check out CNBD testing rooms. Their study protocols must be submitted through the Scientific Advisory Committee or the Infancy Core. The SAC or Infancy Core will review the scientific merit and ethicality of the protocol, and check for current IRB status. Space will then be determined on a case-by-case basis. Each room will be assigned for a specified period. Extensions to this period must be reviewed by the Space Utility Committee. Priority will be given to research with extra-mural funding, research that reflects collaborations among CNBD faculty and/or across research laboratories, and research that has is being conducted to provide pilot data for extramural grant applications.

Research Support

The Center provides a variety of support to researchers such as equipment use, equipments support, trainings, a library of journals and books, as well as educational opportunities.

Citing the CNBD in your publications

Center productivity is measured by the amount of publications that arise from studies that utilize its resources.  Publications that cite the Center are referenced in annual reports to University funding sources and the NIH, and justify further funding of the Center.

Please notify the CNBD administrative office (cnbd@umn.edu) and/or send a copy through campus mail (Attn: CNBD, MMC 507) of publications so that we may continue to offer services to support research in neurobehavioral development at the University of Minnesota.

Publications should acknowledge the CNBD in the following manner:
Supported (in part, if appropriate) by the Center for Neurobehavioral Development, University of Minnesota.

Please also add the CNBD logo when appropriate (i.e. poster and Powerpoint presentations or flyers).
