EAS-SS Server Administration Services

Server Administration Services combines our expertise in operating systems such as Novell Netware and Windows NT Server with years of experience in running production level business systems. This combination offers customers with demanding business applications a premium alternative to running their own computer center.

If you need support for Unix and Unix-like servers or workstations, please contact the ADCS Unix Workstation Support Group.

The customer retains control of their data and applications, but is supported by professional operation of the server hardware and operating system. This allows the customer to concentrate on the business application rather than issues of support, capacity, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery related to operation of a server and server operating system.

Basic Server Administration

We'll JUMPSTART Your Servers!

EAS-System Support is proud to announce a new support program. We call it JUMPSTART! This offer is focused towards departments that are installing new server hardware, upgrading older hardware or simply have server expertise requirements exceeding the knowledge and experience of their current staff.

Novell and Windows NT Expertise

EAS - System Support brings with it a combined knowledge base of several Novell and Windows NT Server support professionals. We are able to provide help in maintaining University standards when new servers are installed, saving both headaches and service outages due to misunderstanding of these standards within the University network.

Teamwork and Integration

Working with other Office of Information Technology departments, EAS-SS can provide you with a solid footing for getting that new or upgraded server up and running! EAS-SS is a group of individuals within Central Computing Operations who provide low-cost, server administration and server consultation support to departments on the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities campus. The Enterprise Application Systems - System Support group was originally created to centralize software support and distribution and to maintain a consistent Desktop across a department. Because we found that there was an interest and need for flexible technology support at the University, EAS-SS has since expanded our mission to include the administration and support of Novell and Windows NT Servers on a contractual basis.

All of the departments at the University of Minnesota, academic and otherwise, use technology to varying degrees every day. While their use of technology may be all but mandatory, having a full-time person on staff to support those technologies may not be quite necessary. Many smaller departments have support and technology needs that do not warrant hiring an extra full time employee. Likewise, many cannot afford a full-time technologist with the skills that are required. This is where EAS-SS fits in.
EAS-SS is able to draw upon a vast pool of skills and knowledge to tailor a unique service contract for each individual department. Whether you are looking for simple server support, or trying to tackle more complex technology issues, for 3 hours per week or for 30, EAS-SS can help.

To find out more about this service please send email to support@groupwise.umn.edu and we will contact you ASAP.
