A Feast of Words will include a short presentation by professor Anatoly Liberman, author of Word Origins and How We Know Them.

Ever wonder where a word came from? Noted etymologist and University of Minnesota professor Anatoly Liberman has wondered too. Liberman's new book, Word Origins and How We Know Them, is a guide to the science and process of etymology for the layperson. In this funny, charming, and conversational book, Liberman not only reveals the known origins of hundreds of words, but also shows how their origins were determined.

January 18th is the anniversary
of the birth of Peter Roget
