The Name the e-Newsletter Contest is closed
to entires as of December 24, 2008.

Entries will be judged by a secret panel of highly qualified communications specialists.
Additional input will be sought from other Clubs around the country and around the world.
The judges cannot be bribed.

Results of the judges are final,
even if you think they made a huge mistake by not choosing your entry.

If no selections are deemed appropriate, the Contest will be re-opened during Spring Semester, 2009.

THE OFFICIAL RULES

You must enter to win.

You must enter via email. Entries cannot be submitted in person, via telephone, via campus mail, or via USPS. Email provides a time and date stamp.

Entries must be free of copyright conflict. For example, do not submit The New Yorker, Time Magazine, Gourmet, etc.

The strongest entries will reflect one or more of the many virtues of the Campus Club ... or at least make some connection with what the Club is about. The words 'Campus Club' do not need to be in the name, but they may.

Please note: We are not re-naming the Campus Club, in spite of some entries. We are looking for a name for the e-Newsletter.

Submit your entry to Phil Platt.

Entries will be accepted until 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 18 (end of Fall Semester).

Entries will be judged by a secret panel of highly qualified communications specialists. Additional input will be sought from other Clubs around the country and around the world. The judges cannot be bribed.

If no selections are deemed appropriate, the Contest will be held during Spring Semester, 2009.

THE OBLIGATORY F.A.Q.

How many times can I enter? There is no limit. You may enter as often as you like.

What if two people submit the same (or similar) winning name? The first entry wins.

What if I collaborate with a colleague? If you win you will split the prize. If you don't win, you will have at least had some fun.

Do we get extra credit if we concoct our entry in the Café Bar? No, but you will have at least had some fun.

Will the Official Rules be modified as the Semester progresses? Not so far , but possibly. We might get some really clever ideas.

Who can enter? Any current or former Campus Club member, member of the University community, or any Minnesota resident who learns of this contest.

Will extra credit be given to current individual Campus Club members? Certainly. But it will not change the judges' decision.

THE PRIZES

1st Prize
Membership dues waived for 1 year.

2nd Prize
Dinner for 2 in the Café Bar.

3rd Prize
Lunch for 2 - Menu Service in the West Wing.

4th Prize

All entrants will receive a free cookie in The Servery. (One cookie per entrant, no matter how many times you enter.) However, if you submit a previously entered name, you do not get a cookie. Please review the list before you submit.

Here are the entries as of December 11. These are in alpha order to make it easy for you to see if someone has already submitted your clever ideas. Names that are better suited to the Club itself have been deleted.
