Web Templates
The templates are coded with XHTML. See Template coding by section to make sure you're using the code properly.
Note: You cannot change the doctype from XHTML to HTML when using the templates—this kind of change will break the pages.

What's the timeline for converting to the new web header and footer?
University websites (this includes all campuses) should be using the new header and footer—either 760 or 960 pixels wide—by the end of 2010. See the the Brand Policy: Trademarks, Logos, Colors, and Seal policy for more information.
Units that have application sites or other special circumstances that make it difficult to update their header and footer within that timeframe should contact University Relations.
