Upcoming Volunteer Training
Two training opportunities are offered: February and May
A volunteer application packet will be posted in September. Until then, contact us for more information about the upcoming training.
February 2009
Training Dates and Times
Dates soon to be determined.
The schedule of the February training typically is as follows for all volunteer positions:
Friday, 4:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday, 12:00 - 4:00pm
and
two additional weekdays (six hours each) following the weekend session for those who wish to become Crisis Line Advocates or Legal Advocates.
Attendance at each day of training is required to volunteer.
Application Due Date
To be determined. Applications are typically due in January.
Training Location
East Bank on the U of M campus; Volunteers who are accepted after the pre-training interview will be informed of the specific location.
Pre-Training Interview
An interview is required prior to training and will be scheduled upon acceptance of each application. Interviews last approximately 30 minutes and are held at The Aurora Center or over the phone.
Reading / Training Materials
A short reading packet will be given to applicants at the pre-training interview and a Training Manual will be handed out on the first day of training.
