About Us
It is the mission of The Aurora Center to recognize and reduce intimate partner violence on campus through services for survivors and education for the community.
The Aurora Center for Advocacy and Education (TAC) at the University of Minnesota was founded in 1989 and resides within the Office for Student Affairs. TAC provides free and confidential crisis intervention to victims of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking and harassment. TAC also provides services for "concerned persons," that is, people who are concerned about a friend or loved one who has experienced these types of crimes. TAC accepts walk-in clients and operates a 24-hour help line, which is answered 365 days a year. The Aurora Center serves approximately 275 people per year through its advocacy services. The Aurora Center also provides education and training to University of Minnesota students, staff and faculty, as well as to the Twin-Cities community, reaching nearly 5,000 people per year with a message of hope and respect.
Please contact the Aurora Center with any questions about services, presentations, or volunteering.
