(a) While significant risks identified in the Morris audit continue to exist, progress has been made on many issues since the May 2009 follow-up. UMM management is working closely with Twin Cities senior management on finance & budget related issues, an institution-wide system for UMM Bursar operations has been implemented, and the Twin Cities Bookstore has been contracted to manage the UMM Bookstore effective 7/1/09. Also, UMM is now working with the Office of Information Technology to address many information systems concerns. Plans are underway to have UMM use a system which also supports Twin Cities and Duluth facilities management system needs.
