Bio
|
Master Sergeant Sean Mayo is a native of Bridgeport , Connecticut . He entered the Army as an M1A1 Armor Crewman in 1992 and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox , Kentucky .

MSG Mayo became the Commandant of Cadets at the U of M on 16 June 2006 . Prior to his current assignment he served in all possible armor/cavalry leadership positions from Tank Commander to First Sergeant. He has served two tours in Europe and numerous stateside assignments including Fort Hood Texas , Fort Lewis Washington and Fort Carson , Colorado . MSG Mayo has also deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I and III, most recently with the Brave Rifles of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment

MSG Mayo’s military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, the Basic and Advanced Noncommissioned Officers courses, the M1A1 Tank Master Gunner Course, the M1A2 Tank Master Gunner Course, the Combat Lifesaver Course, and the Senior Instructor/Operator Course

MSG Mayo's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 4 Army Commendation Medals, 3 Army Achievement Medals, 4 Good Conduct Medals, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Combat Action Badge. He has also been awarded the National Defense Service Ribbon, 3 Overseas Service Ribbons, and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon. MSG Mayo is a Distinguished Knight in the Order of St. George and a Cavalry “Order of the Spur” awardee.
MSG Mayo’s hobbies include hunting, fishing and sports. He and his wife Dana have three sons; Jackson, Colin and Hayden. |
