Bio

Michelle Swain is a native of San Bernardino, CA.  She entered the Army as a Hawk Missile Crewmen in 1988.  She attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Hawk Missile School at Fort Bliss, Texas.  After serving five years on Active Duty, Michelle entered the Ohio Army National Guard Military Police Officer with the 323rd Military Police Company in Toledo, Ohio.  She graduated from Concordia University (Ann Arbor, Michigan) with a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice.      

Michelle is currently the First Sergeant of the 323rd MP CO.  Prior to her current assignment, she has served in all possible Military Police Officer leadership positions from Team Leader to Operations Sergeant.  She served two tours in Europe and Fort Lewis Washington.  She has also served numerous short tours to Central America.  Michelle has also deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 1 and to Fort Bragg, North Carolina in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where she served as Platoon Sergeant.

Michelle’s military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, the Basic and Advance Noncommissioned Officer Courses, and the Total Army Instructor Training Course.

 

Michelle’s military awards and decorations include 5 Army Commendation Medals, 8 Army Achievement Medals, 1 Good Conduct Medal, The Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Combat Action Badge.  She has also been awarded the National Defense Service Ribbon, 3 Overseas Ribbons, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, 3 Reserve Overseas Ribbons, 2 Ohio Commendation Ribbons and a Foreign Weapons Award.
