A pet project for those in need

Two teams of veterinarians and students with the U's Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) have traveled to Iowa to help care for nearly 650 animals displaced by the recent floods. Above, Larissa Minicucci, a veterinarian with the MRC, lends a hand to a local vet in Cedar Rapids. Previously, MRC members have provided support for hurricane relief efforts and a range of health services following the I-35W bridge collapse.

The bucks start here
At the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis last week, provosts from 12 Midwestern universities vowed to pull together to help the region forge alliances and flex its economic muscle.
