SnapperMail 2 for Palm (POP)

IMAP is recommended over POP. Please see the IMAP version of this guide if you do not especially need a POP configuration.

System Requirements

Palm OS version 5 or greater is required to use SnapperMail with University e-mail. Earlier versions of Palm OS do not support TLS (SSL), which is required to access University e-mail. A network connection to the device is required, for example, University Wireless; cellular customers (e.g., Treo 600/650 smartphone users) would need to purchase a data plan through their provider.

Site License Upgrades

If you currently use the trial version of SnapperMail, or have purchased an individual license, and wish to move to the University's site license, you will need to replace the SnapperMail application on your device with the site license version. The standard installation instructions below may be used to replace the older application file without any loss of settings or mail on the device. For more information on University licensing of SnapperMail, see http://www.umn.edu/adcs/site/.

Site License Registration

To register your copy of SnapperMail using the University's site license:

  1. Launch the SnapperMail application from the device.
  2. Tap the Register button.
